Making $1,000 in a Month: Summer Challenge
As the Summer continues to drag on, like many students I find myself feeling more and more worthless. With so much free time and little to devote my time to, I’ve decided to challenge myself to make a little extra money in the next month.
I thought about doing this separate from the blog but figured I would feel more motivated if I had something holding me accountable. Over the next month, my goal is to do whatever it takes to make an extra $1,000.
Making $1,000 in a month may seem too low or too high of a target depending on where you are in your life, but for me seemed like a good starting point. It’s enough of a reach for me that I wouldn’t obtain it without some serious extra work but most definitely seems within an attainable range.
The Setup
To set the stage for this, I want to layout where I’m starting from and the details of the challenge.
To begin with I have roughly $1000 in savings that I can use to buy, flip, invest, and earn money. For the purpose of simplicity, I will be including all income I earn from any source into the $1000 goal. This includes my paychecks from working part time but not any previous investments that may earn money during the period.
So in order to earn money all I will have access to is $1000 and my time. If in the end I am able to turn my $1000 and time into another $1000 that will equate to a 100% return on my investment within the span of a month.
The Process
My plan going into this challenge is to primarily put my money to work by flipping stuff for profit. This is something I’ve never done before but look forward to learning about and experimenting with.
Each week I will report back with progress and earnings. I hope you guys enjoy this little challenge and maybe gain some inspiration to get out there and maybe try it for yourself.
